About

**Bloomin’ Quilt Party  is Saturday July 16 2022  Noon to 5pm at the Bennett Barn, Aurora**

About the Brookings Quilt Guild

The BAQG was formed in January of 1995.  Our purpose is to encourage a wider appreciation of quilting, to raise and maintain standards of design and individual ideas and expressions.  We also keep interest alive by promoting local quilt projects and programs and doing charitable works.

Monthly Meetings

The Guild meets on the third Monday of each month, except in December. Join us on May 16 at 7:00 p.m. at Grace Point Wesleyan Church (1420 Orchard Drive, Brookings, SD, 57006).  Use the north entrance.

Meetings usually include guild business, a program or special speaker on quilt-related topics, social time, and show and tell. The guild also sponsors workshops, biennial quilt shows (Blooming Quilt Party and Quilt Show), quilt challenges, and evening quilt groups.

All are welcome – beginners and expert quilters alike. We share our experiences and learn more about making quilts. Dues are $20.00 yearly. Please join us and share in the fun!

Community Service Projects

Members have fun assembling quilts for our community. We’ve made quilts for soldiers, victims of fires and other disasters, and Habitat for Humanity. We also make burp cloths for local newborns.

In 2005, we gave 25 quilts to area people and sent off 21 quilts of valor to the wounded soldiers. In 2012, we gave 64 patriotic Quilts of Valor to the Brookings, South Dakota, National Guard 139th Brigade Support Battalion.
